The Sonoma/Petaluma State Historic Parks Association was founded in 1982 to support the Historic Parks in Sonoma and Petaluma. We are committed to saving Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park and to developing a comprehensive business plan to operate and maintain the park. To that end we have developed a preliminary list of revenue-generating activities that are consistent with the historic park. However, further development of this plan and its implementation will take time.

The building also celebrates important qualities such as initiative, ingenuity, and self-reliance, which we value in modern California. These are the qualities Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo exhibited when he created the Adobe to support his colony in Sonoma.
